Was second child of Nehemiah and Mary Minthorn-2nd wife-.
The family moved to VA, pos. Frederick County before 1788, then to Greene County TN. Moved to Wilmington about 1812, Clinton Co OH. Around 1802 left 150 acres on waters of little sinking creek- general movement of Quakers to go where no slaves were kept. Solomon built the first jail in Clinton Co in 1810 for $600. Solomon buried Center MH graveyard NW of Wilmington.
Tabitha moved with children and grandchildren to Westfield, Hamilton County In about 1834. In 1850 census she is next to grandsons John & James. She is 81 years old living with daughter in law Elizabeth, wife of son Evan. Tabitha believe to have died about 1850. Thought to be buried in Martha Doan Memorial Cemetery.

Solomon Stanbaugh emigrated from Greene, Tennessee at an early day and settled in what is now Union Township, Clinton Co., Ohio. His three sons, James, Nehemiah and Evan, settled in what is now Liberty Township-James, where James Brann now lives; Nehemiah, where Eli A. McKee lives, in the year 1814; and Evan, on the farm now owned by Jesse N. Oren, in the year 1813. Evan built the second brick house in the township, in 1823. Charles Johnson was the principal mason. A part of this house is still standing, in good condition, and is occupied by Mr. Oren as a residence.
