Solomon Stimson, father-in-law of William Hardy, was a resident of Prince George's County, Maryland, as early as March 1699 and had settled on the NW bank of Piscataway branch about 2 miles west of Cheltenham when Col Henry Darnall's manor, His Lordship's Kindness, was surveyed 10 Oct 1701. Solomon's will was probated 26 Jan 1726, names his wife, Elizabeth, as Executrix, and mentions three sons: Solomon, Benjamin, and Jeremiah; and daughters Mary, Sarah and Ann and 2 sons-in-law, WIlliam Elder and Thomas Elder. Wives of the Elders were not identified...Elizabeth Stimson, relict of Solomon, married Peter Hoggins, a carpenter, prior to Nov 1728 (Court Rec 6, Liber O, p 344). William Hardy in his will dated 1740 left to his "mother-in-law Elizabeth Hoggins his daughter Mary Ann to be brought up."
