About Sophia Ulrika Nilsson
From Gothenburg, ralated to the Vasa family, Sweden's ruling house. She was al loyal wife, who fully shared in her husband's religious vocation. During several different periods she taught school from their home. The following passage appears in the papers of accusation that Gothenburgs City prosecutor for the crown through H. Greill and an account the demand by the dean of the cathedral sent to the "Royal Justice Constters (ambitet?) the 5th of January regarding F.O. Nilsson. "Further I would humbly add that Nilsson's wife holds school in the above mentioned house in Hagabeden but up to now it seems to be harmless since it is composed only of small poor children 8-12 years old, which are taught reading, writing and arithmetic and though the regular catechism is not used in this school, the children do not read other books except the psalm book and the New Testament as far as I can learn." Mrs. Ulrika Nilsson was called before the cathedral dean at Gothenburg and was there examined as to doctrine. The record of it shows that she truly understood what she believed and her answers served to have been to the point and complete.
