I would like to add a photograph of my wonderful grandmother, Sophie Barou (nee Gissin). She died on 4th May 1959 when I was eleven years old. Her house in London was filled with beautiful paintings by famous Russian artists. She had a love of porcelain exhibited in a French 18th century display cabinet which is now in my possession with the porcelain collection. I inherited from her a love of art (I have a few of her paintings) and she would take me to the Wallace Collection in London, a museum I visit still and always think of her. I may be the last person alive who knew and loved her, which is a strange feeling.
