Levy, Sophie geboren am 17. November 1883 in Bollendorf / Bitburg / Rheinprovinz wohnhaft in Bollendorf
Deportation: ab Luxemburg 23. April 1942, Izbica, Ghetto
Belzec Concentration Camp, was transported on April 23, 1942 to Trier, then on the 24th deported to Izbica by way of Stuttgart. Arrived on April 29, and then was taken to Belzec in mid may and killed upon arrival.
Lena Levy and Sophie were Daniel Levy (Pepe)'s sisters. They never married and stayed quite poor. They lived with their mother Karoline in the family home in Bollendorf along the Sauer river and worked hard to grow food to sell and to eat. They were taken from Bollendorf to Trier in late March along with Paula and Leo Hein. Then the transport started on April 24, 1942 via Saarbruecken and Stuttgart. On April 29, 1942, it arrived in the ghetto of Izbica, Poland. Two weeks later, the whole transport was taken to Belzec, nearby, and exterminated.
