About Soren Christian Poulsen
GEDCOM Note
Soren Christian Jacobsen, went by the last name Poulsen, as in his step father. Christian Poulsen. 2/3/93 From Adell Polsen Overly, Pasted in an old photograph album there is a yellowed newspaper clipping of my father's death. It evidently was published June 4, 1920. (I was born four months after he died.) This is what it says: Mr. Soren C. Poulsen, the well known pioneer and capitalist of Providence, died yesterday of dropsy and leakage of the heart. Mr. Poulsen was a native of Denmark, where he was born Jan. 26, 1848, making him seventy-two years of age. He came to Utah in 1860 when he was but 12 years old and has been a resident of Providence the greater part of the time. He crossed the plains twice before the advent of the railway. He has been an energetic worker in the building up of this county, and was highly respected. He leaves a wife and two children by a former wife: Mr. Willard S. Poulsen and Mrs. J. H. Miller. Funeral services will be held in the Providence Second Ward on Monday next at 2 O'clock p.m.
