OBITUARY Soren Halvorson Herum Was born at Lundherred, Telemarken, Norway, May 9, 1826. He came to the Rock River settlement near Oconomowoc, this state, in 1843, with his parents, three brothers and two sisters, where they resided until 1855, when they moved to the town of Martell and has lived on the same place until his death, which occurred Oct. 24, 1922. Has been totally blind the last 12 years. The surviving members of the family are, a widow and 7 children, they are Nels, Halli, Svenning, Martin and Norman, all residing in the town of Martell; Mrs. E. Evenson at Thief River Falls, Minn., and Mrs. A. P. Blonde at Minot, N. D. Also 29 grand children and 18 great grand-children. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Z. Ordal, Friday afternoon at the Rush River church of which he was a charter member. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were N. P. Haugen of Madison, Wis., Oscar Herum of Carpio, N. D., Mrs. Melberg of Alen, Minn., and Andrew Jefferson and Mrs. Gilbertson of Hudson; Mr. and Mrs. Halvor T. Halvorson, Arkansaw, Wis., and Mrs. Orin Halvorson of Minneapolis.
