Sr Leatha Laura IHM, Age 66, died of a heart attack at 3:55 am today in St Marys Convent.

She was born on July 14, 1896, to Frank and Susan (Digue) Laura in South Rockwood MI.

In 1916, Leatha entered the congregation, receiving the name Sr Mary Emmanuel Laura IHM and began teaching in 1917. She taught in many schools throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit. Sr Emmanuel had been teaching in St Mary's Catholic School at Wayne since 1959.

She is survived by a brother, Irvin Laura, and two sisters, Dora (Laura) Labo and Eleanor (Laura) Gildersleeve. After a Mass of the Resurrection in the Motherhouse Chapel, burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery on the Motherhouse Campus.
