Du-au-li-Lu ‘Standing Man’ Bowles aka Wagon Bowles was a Cherokee man
Biography
Wagon Bowles was the son of Duwali/John Bowles and his wife Oo loo tsa. He was born in the Cherokee Nation (East) about 1788. He moved with his parents to Arkansas in 1810 where he married Fannie Davis about 1813. They were the parents of two children, Elizabeth, and Thomas. [1] It is not known whether he moved on to Texas, but in 1851 Wagon (listed as "Standing Man"), his second wife Catoosy and children Johnson and Etta (Carneety) were living in the Canadian District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory. [2]
