Stanley married Jane Whelchel Klain in 1993.
He was the owner of Stanley Klain Custom Homes, S & K, and K & L construction companies, Klain worked as a general contractor for 15 years and also owned and operated Cresthaven Homes. He was the former president and chief executive officer of the plumbing supply company, Sam Klain & Sons.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mario H. Klain of Winston Salem, North Carolina and Lenore Howard of Indianapolis; two sons, Ronald A. Klain of Washington, D.C., and David S. Klain of Indianapolis; brother, Bradley R Klain; sister, Natalie Gibson, and two grandchildren.
