About Stanley Rubin
Stanley Creamer Rubin (October 8, 1917 – March 2, 2014) was an American screenwriter and film and television producer born in New York City. He was the recipient of the Television Academy's first Emmy in 1949 for writing and producing (in collaboration) an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's "The Necklace" for the NBC TV series Your Show Time.
In 2005, Rubin began attending classes at the University of California, Los Angeles to get the last few credits to obtain the Bachelor of Arts Degree he missed earning in 1937.

Some things in life, you care about. Other things, you let go. Stanley Rubin is 88 and learning that one of the things he didn't care about is very important after all - 68 years later. That's how the winner of the first Emmy ever awarded, producer of critically acclaimed feature films, and all-around entertainment industry veteran, came to enroll - for the second time - in undergraduate film courses at UCLA in the fall of 2005, sporting a manila file folder with the handwritten sticker label, "UCLA - On To A Degree." ...
