SP (43), was attacked on his farm Kangella in the Heidelberg valley between Nelspruit and White River.
He died in a hospital in Nelspruit from serious wounds he sustained in the attack. Rossouw, who lived alone on his farm, was assaulted. with among other things with machetes and other sharp objects
Another neighbor, Rory Wilke, came across Rossouw where he was lying badly bloodied in the road. It was a sad sight. SP's fingers were almost cut off. It was reattached later in the hospital. Near SP lay a piece of telephone cable with which they apparently wanted to drag him behind his own van. The cable was already around SP's neck when I got there, says Wilke.
Rossouw was still alive several days after the attack. In an interview with a local newspaper, he said: I fainted several times, but I didn't want to go lie, I was afraid they would cut my head off.
André Rossouw, SP's brother, says it is a repulsive act that justifies retaliation. The people did not want to rob. In any case, there was nothing left in SP's house as they had looted it. Not much more than a bar of soap is missing. They wanted to kill, and do it as brutally as possible, Rossouw, who worked at Correctional Services in Barberton.
