Ensign Stephen Burlingame served with Kent County Militia, Rhode Island Militia during the American Revolution.

Ensign Stephen Burlingame was born March 13, 1742, in Coventry, Providence county, Rhode Island. Kent county was established in 1750 and Stephen was residing in Coventry, Kent County, Rhode Island at the time of the American Revolutionary War. Stephen served as an Ensign in the Navy, under the command of Ship Captain Joseph Brayton and Lieutenant Ichabod Potter. [1]

Ensign Burlingame is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as DAR Ancestor #A107392. DAR records indicate that Stephen died April 10, 1808, in Coventry, Kent county, Rhode Island and that his wife's name was Ruth King. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their son, Ebenezer Burlingame, who married Elizabeth [2]
