S. Y. LaCroix, of Parham, La., was called by death on May 22, 1935. This
passing has cast a gloom over the entire parish, where he spent his early
life. He moved to Parham in 1908.
Mr. LaCroix was a member of the one of the oldest and most prominent families
in LaSalle Parish. He was 72 years, 1 month, and 19 days of age. A member
of the Methodist Church at Eden, having united in his early childhood.
Surviving the deceased are the following: three sons, S. B. and Jim LaCroix,
Parham, La., Calvin LaCroix, Selma, La.; and five daughters, Mrs. E. Whatley,
Pioneer, La.; Mrs. H. King, Mrs. Jack Crane, Monterey, La.; Mrs. D. Lawrence,
Parham; and Mrs. H. Hudnall, Trout; and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Thompson,
Pineville.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. F. Anders, pastor of the Methodist
Church at Jena, Thursday, May 23, at Eden Church. The body was laid to rest
in the cemetery there.
