Stephen Stewart

There is a long story about the son of Stephen named George Stewart in Stewart Clan Magazine page 346 Dec.1928 vol.VII No,6. He is the only son with adult records of Stephen Stewart, brother of the immigrants, Lazarus, Samuel, Hugh, Robert, and James of Hanover and Paxtang Townships, Lancaster, PA. SCM believes Stephen's birth date should be 1720 a year after Hugh's birth. His son George applied in 1850 at age 92 for a military war pension based upon his extensive Revolutionary war record. He was rejected. Even the "New Orleans Picayune" wrote about George's stories. He was then living in Greene County, Illlinois.

SCM also says that Stephen and his wife moved to Frederick, (now) W. Virginia about 1744 where their children were born.
