About Stewart Ailor
AILOR, Stewart G. (Age 76)
Long-time Spokane Valley resident, Stew Ailor, passed
away at his home February 2, 2006. He was cared for by
his sister, Velva Carson and her husband, Joe, of
Phoenix, AZ; sister, Carol Sue Hauntz and husband,
Larry, of Grangeville, ID. He had suffered a massive
stroke January 23rd at his home. Stew was born in
Spokane October 13, 1929 to Glenn and Sue Ailor of
Grangeville, ID. He spent his formative years in
Grangeville, graduating in 1947. He went on to the
University of Idaho earning a B. S. degree in Business
Education in 1953 and his Masters in Education a year
later. His 39 years of teaching were done at
Davenport, WA, Post Falls, ID, and the last 28 years
at Cusick, WA. He retired in 1997 from teaching. To
fill the void, he enrolled in the Medical Lake writing
class forming a special bond with the members. In
1951, he was inducted into the Army and served two
years in South Korea, teaching clerical skills for the
USAFI. From 1959 to the present, he and partner, Art
Ladd, had been active as Afghan breeders, exhibitors,
and handlers under their Samar Kennel. His present dog
of choice was Chinese Crested. In addition to his
sisters and brothers-in-law, he is survived by
nephews, Ken and Kris Carson, Federal Way, WA; niece,
Connie Carson, Roseville, CA; nephew, Thane Hauntz,
Grangeville, ID; nieces, Thasa Zuziak, Tara Hauntz,
Laguna Beach, CA; and nine great-nephews and nieces.
Remembrance Service Tuesday, February 7th, 2006 at
11:00 A.M. at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines
Rd., Spokane Valley, WA. Memorials may be made to
