ATKINSON, Stewart John - Passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at the Health Sciences Complex, after a brief battle with cancer, Stewart John Atkinson, aged 69 years. Predeceased by his infant son Stewart John Jr.; his father Leo Pearson; his mother Myrtle Amanda; sister Merle; brother-in-law Cliff MacDonald. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted wife Beatrice (nee Hillier); his ten children: Bill (Denika), Connie Linington (Dave), Dale (Chyntia), Marion Cournoyer (Ron), Greg (Colleen), Todd (Glenda), Randy, Katrina, Tim (Amanda) and Dana (Mark); thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters: Phyllis MacDonald, Tom (Dorothy), Ella Philpott (Larry), Roy (Vera), Enurchas (Nellie); also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends. Resting at BarrettÕs Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of StewartÕs Life will be held from BarrettÕs Funeral Home Chapel, Mount Pearl on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow the service.
