Stewart Glenn Sprenger, 58, a resident of Beaverton, Ore., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, Ore., after a five-year battle with leukemia.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Aloha,
Ore. Father Louis Urbanski will be the celebrant.
Stewart was born May 30, 1945, in Moscow and was the son of Frank and Helen Sprenger of Genesee. He grew up on the family farm outside of Genesee and graduated from the University of Idaho.
After graduation from college, he moved to Portland to begin his banking career with First National Bank of Oregon.
In 1968, he married his college sweetheart, Rita Kiebert, and they shared 35 wonderful years together in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area.
Stewart spent all of his professional career in banking. He began this career in 1967 and ended it last year with 13 years at US Bank in commercial lending. He generously gave of his time and talent to organizations such as the Hillsboro High School Budget Committee and the Rose Festival Airshow Committee for eight years. He was also an active member of the YMCA.
Stewart was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. He served his church as an usher and loved being part of the church choir. Stew will be long remembered for his caring, loving spirit and willingness to always give of his time and go the extra mile for family, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sprenger.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; daughters Shannon Spicciati and husband Alan of Federal Way, Wash., and Kelli Shuster and husband Dave of Beaverton; and very special grandchildren, Andrew and Sam Spicciati and Nate Shuster. Also surviving is his mother, Helen Sprenger, of Genesee; and sister and brother-in-law Janet and Tom Sprute of Lewiston.
