About Subba Rao Rayaprolu
నవ్య కవితా పితామహునిగా పేరుపొందిన రాయప్రోలు సుబ్బారావు (మార్చి 17, 1892 - జూన్ 30, 1984) తెలుగులోభావ కవిత్వానికి ఆద్యుడు. ఈయన 1913లో వ్రాసిన తృణకంకణముతో తెలుగు కవిత్వములో నూతన శకము ఆరంభమైనదని అంటారు. ఇందులో ఈయన అమలిన శృంగార తత్వాన్ని ఆవిష్కరించాడు. ప్రేమ పెళ్ళికి దారితీయని యువతీయువకులు స్నేహితులుగా మిగిలిపోవడానికి నిర్ణయించుకున్న ఇతివృత్తముతో ఖండకావ్య ప్రక్రియకు అంకురార్పణ చేశాడు.

Rayaprolu Subbarao (1892–1984) was among the pioneers of modern Telugu literature.[1] He is known as Abhinava Nannaya.[2] He was recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award to Telugu Writers for his poetic work Misra Manjari in 1965. He was inspired by the Western literary movement and brought romanticism into Telugu literature by breaking away from the traditional translations of Sanskrit literature. He introduced the concept of "Amalina Shringara Tatvamu" into Telugu literature
His poem Edesamegina Endukalidina, Pogadara Neetalli Bhoomi Bharatini, Nilupara Neejaati Nindu Gauravamu is very popular.[3]

Rayaprolu Subbarao (1892-1984) is one of the pioneers of modern Telugu literature. Anumati (Permission), Bhajagovindamu (Pray to Govinda), Soundaryalahari (Billow of Beauty), Sundarakanda (Beauty Section), Dootamattebhamu (Messenger Elephant), Lalitha , and Madhukalasamu (Liquor Pitcher) are his translations. Trunakankanamu (Grass Bracelet), Andhravali (Andhra Row), Kashta Kamala, Ramyalokam (Beautiful Sight), Swapnakumaramu, Telugutoata (Telugu Garden), Vanamala (Forest Necklace), Misramanjari (Mixed Bouquet), Kannepatalu (Virgin Songs) and Jadakutchulu (Braid Tassels) are some of his independent works. Subbarao, inspired by the Western literary movement, brought romanticism into Telugu literature by breaking away from the traditional translations of Sanskrit literature.
