HENRY AUGUSTUS,8 son of Zenas,7 Zenas,6 moved to New York City in 1835, where, as a wholesale grocer, he became a prominent business man. He mar. 1st, June 2, 1845, Sarah M. Wells, who d. May 11, 1856, aged 32. He mar. 2d Amelia C., widow of Geo. O. Russell of Middletown, Ct.

I. Susan Wells, b. Jan. 20, 1846 ; mar. Oct. 10, 1872, Henry C. Hopkins, a banker and broker.

They had chil. :

• 1. Henry Kent. b. Aug. 16, 1873.
• 2. Gerald Wells, b. Oct. 8, 1875.
• 3. Ethel Hopkins, b. Nov. 28, 1881.

II. Henry A.,9 b. Apl. 28, 1848 ; d. San Francisco June 6, 1878 ; unmarried ; aged 30.

III. Fanny E., b. Dec. 2, 1850; mar. Dec. 27, 1877, Col. Joseph P. Sanger, U.S.A. and had chil. :

• 1. Edith Kent, b. Jan. 1, 1879.
• 2. Walter Prentiss, b. Aug. 14, 1881.

IV. Sheldon L.,9 b. Jan. 25, 1853; mar. Dec. 25, 1882, Sarah Faster. He is a broker, and member of the N.Y. Stock Exchange, 1897.

V. Walter L.,9 b. Aug. 11, 1855; an accountant; mar. Nov. 17, 1880, Caroline Humphreys. They have children:

• 1. Percy George,10 now a manufacturer.
• 2. Sarah Wells.
• 3. Henry Augustus.10
