Susanna Eccles

Susanna Chamberlain was born ca 1616 in England. She was the daughter of Henry Chamberlain (ca 1595-15 Jul 1674) & Jane (-aft 16 Mar 1708).

She married

1. before 1645 in Hingham, MA, to Joseph Carter, son of Thomas Carter and Mary. He died 31 JAN 1675/76 in Charlestown, MA.
2. on 4 JUN 1677 in Charlestown, MA to Richard Eccles, his 2nd wife. His parents are not known.

Their children include:

• ii. Henry Carter (ca 1648-)
• iii. Susanna Carter (ca 1649-7 Oct 1708)
• iv. Joanna Carter (ca 1650-10 Nov 1698)

ECCLES, RICHARD, resided for a time on the westerly side of the Common, and afterwards on the westerly corner of Brattle and Ash streets. By his w. Mary he had Timothy, b. 15 Mar. 1644-5, (1. 21 Nov. 1656. Mary, m. John Watson of Roxbury; Anna (or Hannah), m. Gershom Brooks of Concord; Martha, m. Thomas Andrew 30 Oct. 1673. His w. Mary (1. 23 Aug. 1675,and he m. Susanna Carter 4 June 1677. Mr. Eccles was a weaver, and d. before 10 Mar. 1696-7, when the estate was sold by his daus. Mary and Anna (both widows), and Martha, whose husband, Thomas Andrew, joined in the sale.
