Susanna de Vries

Hermanus Bosman * Amsterdam 19.4.1682 s.v. Lambertus Bosman v. Aurik in Oos-Friesland wat op 6.9.1681 getroud is met Maria Fransz v. Amsterdam. Hermanus gaan in 1705 na Batavia as sieketrooster, maar in 1707 a. aan die Kaap op die Overryp. Hier word hy aangestel as sieketrooster en voorleser vir die gemeente Drakenstein. Hy tree in 1748 uit VOC-diens en woon op “De oude Plantage” † 26.7.1769 (sien verder Die Bosmans in Suid-Afrika deur Sita de Kock) x 4.3.1708 Elisabeth DE VILLIERS * c. 1690 † c. 1765 d.v. Dogter van Hermanus Bosman. Sy was 'n skryfster.

Susanna Bosman , the daughter of Abraham Bosman and Susanna de Villiers. She was born in 1712 at the Cape and died 9th July 1755.

They lived in a house on Zee Street, Cape Town.

They had four daughters and four sons.

Her children are given as listed in her will made in May, 1746,

when, recently widowed, she was confined to bed by sickness.

In this same will she appoints her brother-in-law, Daniel de Vries,

to run the bakery for the benefit of her children if the Executors

should see fit.

In her will of 1755 she mentioned only her two youngest children,

Hendrik and Elisabeth, mentioning that they should not go to live

with anyone other their own family.

In his will of 1785 her brother, Abraham Bosman, left a portion of

his estate to be divided among the children of Susanna and Isaak

but their two sons, Abraham and Hendrik, are excluded 'for

special reasons
