Born in Virginia about 1797 and died before 1870 in Pope County, Arkansas.

Daughter of Revolutionary War soldier John Gulley and unknown wife. According to John Gulley's pension application on 03 Nov 1832 in Jackson Co, Tennessee, when he was 95, John Gulley was born: "In Orange County State of Virginia in the year 1737. I have no record of my age except it is recorded in the Church in which I was Christened." His application for a pension was approved on 03 May 1833 when he was 96. John Gulley died before 1840 in Jackson County, Tennessee.

Susannah Gulley married Hillary Curtis Sr. about 1815 in Jackson County, Tennessee. Their first child, son Bilbray/Bilberry was born 1816 in that county.

He and family are on 1820 federal census in Lincoln Co, Tennessee, living next door to his brother-in-law Hillary Curtis Sr & his wife Susannah Gulley. In the aforementioned lawsuit, William Gulley is referred to: "Johnson, John, Thoms, Lewis, Sally & Eliz. CH. OF DEC'D BRO OF GULLEY."

2. ROBERT JOHNSON GULLEY, subject of aforementioned 1850 lawsuit (he died intestate) b. abt 1775 Va, died Jul 1850 in Marshall Co, Tennessee; m. widow Fanny Worsham Beach & had 6 children: Francis W.; James; John J; Mary J. "Polly" who m. J. Wesley Beach 25 Jul 1850 in Marshall Co Tenn; Susan "Nancy" m. Narcy Weeks; and William. Robert Johnson Gulley's children were named in another lawsuit entered 3 March 1854 by John Gully et al vs A. H. Luna et al.

3. LEWIS GULLEY b. 1785 Culpeper Co, Virginia, d. after 1850 Kentucky. Married C. unknown.

4. THOMAS GULLEY, b. 1788 Culpeper Co, Virginia, d. after 1880 in Clay Co Tenn. Married Sarah Wright.

5. NANCY GULLEY, b. abt 1789 Virginia, died after Aug 1870 Pope County, Arkansas. Married James McAfee. They lived in Tishomingo Co, Mississippi before moving to Pope Co, Ark.

6. JAMES GULLEY, b. 1795 Virginia, d. abt 1875 Jackson Co, Tennessee. Thought to have married 3 times.

7. SUSANNAH "SUSAN" GULLEY, b. 1796 Virginia, d. before 1870 Pope County, Arkansas. Married Hillary Curtis Sr. These are my ggg-grandparets. They were in Tishomingo Co, Mississippi before 1837.

8. ANNA GULLEY, b. abt 1797 Tennessee, d. aft 1870 Tennessee. Married my ggg-uncle Russell Curtis, brother of Hillary Curtis who married Susannah Gulley, sister of Anna. Youngest child of Russell Curtis & wife Anna Gulley was Jesse Harrison Curtis, buried Shiloh Church Cemetery, Hardin Co, Tenn; Find a Grave Memorial # 37699455.
