About Susannah Knowles
The parentage of Susannah who married John Knowles is not known at this time. She does not seem to be the daughter of George and Elizabeth Lawrence. Their daughter Elizabeth married a Whitney and relocated to Stow. It has been proposed that the last name of Susannah is either Lawrence or Page and there does not seem to be good evidence at this point to establish her parents. It has also been suggested that she is the daughter of John Lawrence and his wife (a Batchelder) of Groton, Mass, but this also does not seem likely. John Lawrence died in Groton when Susannah was 2 years old and there is evidence that John Lawrence's widow stayed in Massachusetts so there does not seem to be a way to get that Susannah to New Hampshire.
The 2013 work by Wayne Blanchard, From the Great Migration to the Greatest Generation, has Susannah listed as Page? or Lawrence? -- p. 155
There is no evidence yet that this is Susannah Lawrence.

It has also been suggested that she is the daughter of John Lawrence and his wife (a Batchelder) of Groton, Mass. John Lawrence died in 1667 right around the time his daughter Susanna was born in 1667. The mother Susanna who was a Batchelder died in 1668. So, Susannah would be a young orphan. There were Batchelders who went to New Hampshire at the same time as the Knowles family, so perhaps she was taken in by her mother's family and went with them. She was living with her grandfather William Batchelder at the time of his will in 1671; he mentions Susannah Lawrence and two other young grandchildren and states they should stay in the care of his wife Rachel (at least I think that is what is says). Some internet trees have the Susanna Lawrence daughter of John and Susanna marrying Samuel Kemp in 1683, but this Susanna Lawrence would have been just 16 at that time -- not impossible -- but there were several Susanna Lawrences around at the time.
