About Susannah Okeson

Susannah Thorne was born about 1645[1] to William Thorne and Susannah Booth,[2] presumably in Flushing, New Netherland.

On 10 July 1667, John Ockeson and she were entered into a bond to be married.[3][4]

Susannah is believed to have died around between 25 March 1694/5 and 15 April 1696 (O.S.), for on the former date she was party, with her husband, to a conveyance in Madnans Neck, while on the latter date her husband conveyed land on his own.[5]

Note on Her Taken Name, Ockeson, Etc.

For those not familiar with this family, the spelling of "Ockeson" name was given very rough treatment during this period in Long Island -- different members of the family and different official documents, list them as Ockeron, Lockerson, Locussum, Casson, Cassum, Kissam, as well as probably other spellings.
