Most hardworking and educated housewife of her time. With soul of a Devi, sometimes felt frustrated for lack of support and appreciation, but never ccomplained. Her life was far better than women in earlier generations. During her life she always tried to please everyone. She raised not only her own three children, but babysat six bright granddaughters. At the time she died she had 4 lovely great grandchildren. She always kept herself busy around any home. She cooked at least one meal a day for the whole family as long as she possibly could.
"I am most blessed to have 6 granddaughters and not one grandson." She said that at Sasha's birth. Her reasoning was that after 5 granddaughters, a son would have deminished the value of her 5 granddaughters. Purnima is most honored to notice that she was always included in her family newsletters besides her 6 granddaughters.
Her Hostle experience at Benaras Hindu University was the highlight of her career. She looked most confident in her College picture. She so much wanted to join work force, but never found enough support within or around her.
Her dream was freedom. Purnima sponsored her to USA. For several years she lived in USA away from her husband. When she wanted to be with her only daughter, the daughter was too weak. By the time the daughter gained strength, she was not left to take her own decisions. May God bless her soul.
I miss you year after year. In spite of your balancing efforts, the family remains imbalanced.

"Oh Captain, my Captain, thy fearful trip is done. The ship has weather'd every rock, the prize we sought is won." Yes, she was the captain of the family ship. She opened a new door for us. When it is our turn, she will be out there to receive us most feelingfully. 26th May 2008 shanti paath: Havan and lunch were arranged singlehandedly by Sudhir. The only one allowed to speak was Shipra. May be a senior respectable personality of the community was asked to talk maintaining sanctity of the occasion. Rakesh's emotions were confused. He acted like a lost puppy. Sudhir presented himself like ever before, stern and non compromising. Unfortunately There was no 'we' and 'us' at the occasion, there were several 'I' and 'me'. Madhu sat above all else, wrapped in gold. She made a pretty bride with two maids of honor.
