Biography

(. 6.Oct. 1449 - Sven Jonsson (Johansson) in Dingelvik in Stenby parish (Västre Götaland) in Sweden gives his wife Ingeborg Toresdatter Byting til Morgengave),

It reads like this: Everyone who sees or hears this letter greets I Sven Jonsson in Dyngevik, the reverend armed with God, announcing in this letter that I have given my dear lovely wife Ingeborg Bytingsdotter as a gift tomorrow on the right due date dessa nedan nemda goods at Dal.

First, a farm called Tveten with a deserted plot of land under it lying in Brålanda parish. (Dalsland, Western Götaland)

The next farm called Bodane in Gestad parish (Dalsland, Västre Götaland) And a farm called Hagen in Grinstad parish (Dalsland, Västre Götaland) with underlying øde plot, and my whole halft in Søder byn in the same Grinstad parish lying with all its ægor and ægondeler in wet and dry, honorable and distant and nothing of what rightfully belongs to me excepted. And this morning I have shot and shafted her according to the law on the prescribed date of occurrence with these 12 men.

  • 1. Jon Andrisson - 2. Olaf Andrisson - 3. Peder ...... - 4. Lasse Jonsson - 5. Sven Ormsson - 6. Henrik Skrivare - 7. Hans Ingersson - 8. Tord Ingemarsson - 9. Bjørn Laurisson - 10. Enar Håkansson - 11. Gunulf i Svalehede - 12. Birger Birgerson.

As the law book shows that if we have children and the children inherit together, then this fake morning gift should be given to the mothers, not to the fathers. If we don't have children, which God forbid, then whoever lives the longest will keep the gift of tomorrow. And that this shall be fixed and inviolable under her and her right heirs, as is prescribed, I ask these honorable men for their seals. which one is: 1. Bengt Gøstasson, lecturer in Skara - 2. Ingvar Mickelsson - 3. Jøns Andrisson - 4. Armsman Henrik Skriver, to hang together with my seal under this letter, as written on Stola.

Sven Jonsson (ca.1420 - ca.1484?) and Ingeborg Toresdatter (ca.1425 - ?) Byting from Stola manor in Kållan, was thus married on 5 Oct. 1449.

Sven Jonsson's sigil is half a lily in Ginbalk. One seal is indistinct and 3 are completely missing. Sven Jonsson has the coat of arms together with the Høgfrælseætten Halsten Peterson (half Lilja) married to Margreta (also called Märta) Knutsdatter, (coat of arms Tre Rosor) she was born in the early 14th century, maybe around 1310/1315?. A genus with many parallel branches, without knowing these for sure.

The widow Margrete (Märta) Knutsdatter (coat of arms Tre Rosor) inherited according to her will 29 Sept. 1358, the then childless aunt Ramfrid Bengtsdatter Leion (Hafridsätten), her husband and children died in the Black Death.

Margreta Knutsdotter was remarried to Magnus Uddolfsson (see SDHK-nr. 7497, 1358 - 24 Dec. - written on Berg - , Arvid Petersson (brother of Halsten Petersson) assigns to Honorable man Magnus Uddolfsson his farm in "Hollasio" and Åby mill against his farm in Ramkvilla and his heirloom castle after it stands Håkan (it's probably a typo for Halsten) Petersson

Halsten Peterson (Halv Lilja) (the older one) died between 24 Febr. 1358 and 29 Sept. 1358.

Halsten Peterson was King Magnus Eriksson's (1316 - 1374) confidant. Halsten's coat of arms can be found on a famous folding table in Luneberg (Germany). Halsten's weapon was a lily in Ginbalk Halsten (carried a divided lily ginbalkwise in Upper field (half a yellow lily in red upper field)

Genealogist JR Raneke is sure to misread the coat of arms as a cross-divided lily, as the photo (of the clapboard) is telling.

Sven Jonsson has around 5 mantals in Dal Adeln.

Ingeborg Toresdatter Byting's morning gift was a sixth of Sven's inheritance at Dal, with Dyngovik (Dingelvik) as the seat.

A later generation had problems with a daughter marrying below her status. The brother solved this by donating a whole farm to his sister.

Sven Jonsen's inheritance was at least 3 x 5 mantal and the daughter

  • 1. Ragnhild (Ragnilla) Svensdatter inherited Sundal and Walbo and married Gudmund Torbjørnsson Til Forstena, their only daughter Anna (also called Ragnhild) Gudmundsdatter married Hæggatorp and became the matriarch of the actual Forstena clan, which had 5 sons in edge inheritance of 3 full farms, besides at Dal - Ulfstorp and Forstena, Lunden, Nygård and/or more.
  • 2. Daughter Bothild (a) Svensdatter (born c.1450) got her inheritance in Norway (so they owned farms in Norway! but where?) (she was married to squire Olav Amundsen, Holter in Fenstad parish in Nes på Romerike in Akershus (Arms Star under spars).
  • 3. Daughter Karin Svensdatter was born in Dingelvik, probably married to a Mårten Jonsson (who is in Dingelvik), then it follows almost a tradition that the women in Dingelvik with as many as 4 Karins and a couple of Margareta, up to Karin the lV Svenske in the late 17th century.

A Hans Petersson mentioned (letter) in 1484 in Dingelvik and was evidently married to a daughter of Sven Jonsson (Halv Lilja) (also written as Johansson) and Ingeborg Toresdatter (Byting). From the text of the letter it appears that Hans Petersson buys back the farm from Oluf Amundsson (Stake?), which his father-in-law Sven Jonsson previously sold to Erik Mattsson Kagge (to Rössvik). How it had ended up with Oluf Amundsson is not clear, but it could be his wife Karin Mattsdotter Kagge's property, she was the widow of Gregers Jönsson. An interesting wording in the letter reads "SVEN JONSSON, may God have mercy on his soul, who was then the right guardian of the noble estate" One gets the impression that he sold on behalf of someone incompetent.

In a medieval deed SDHK-nr:3453- - 1484- 05-04 - Rössvik - it says this: Hans Petersson in Dingelvik (in Steneby parish) about property in Husbyring parish, which Oluf Amundsson and his wife, widow of Gregers Jönsson, gave him etc. Sealed by Mr. Birger (Svensson) parish priest in Husby-Rekarne, and the squire Anders Eriksson district chief in Östrrekarne.

Which of Sven and Ingeborg's children should have been married to Hans Petersson is incomprehensible, as there are only 3 children mentioned after Sven and Ingeborg, 1. Karin, 2. Ragnhild and 3. Bothild (Botilla?) and none of them mentioned as married to Hans Petersson, so this must be wrong?

At: https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sven_Jonsson_(halv_lilja) - it says that Sven Jonsson was the son of Johan Halstensson (Halstein Petersson's family), (the Johan who was Sven's father I believe must have been born approx. 1390?). But according to Utter, this Johan was a son of Halsten Petersson and Marta Knutsdotter, but (this must be a younger Halsten Petersson, who should have been born around the 1360s?), and his father again Peter (Halstensson) born c.1330 /35, whether this was the Peter Halstensson mentioned in Träcksta from and including 18 May 1362 to and including 7 May 1401 is probably somewhat uncertain, but he again (assumed?) was the son of Halsten Peterson - Halv Lilje) ant.born about 1290/1300? - 1358) married to Margreta (Märta) Knutsdatter (c.1300 - lived in 1377), daughter of Knut (father's name unknown, but previously he was called Jonsson av Mørby). and his wife Christina Bengtsdatter Lejon. Sven Jonsen (Johansson) used the same half lily in Ginbalk, (not on Tverren split lily,) that Halstein Peterson's family used.

Halsten Petersson (ca.1290/1300? - 1358 and Margareta (Märta) Knutsdatter (ca.1300/1310? - after 1362, also had children Knut Halstensson mentioned 1377 and 1385 and Håkon Halstensson Mentioned 1377 and 1385.

(PS: An interesting Liljeförende Knight Halsten Petersson is mentioned in the Smålen Njudung and in Flundre herad by the Gøta river 1329 - 1357. King Magnus Eriksson's confidant.

In the year 1355, SOFI mentions a "Necklace in Tracksta", and on 24 Febr. In 1358 we find Halsten in THRÆGSTA, as permanent resident in Vadsbro (Södermanland). Halstein Peterson therefore died between 24 February 1358 and 29 September. 1358, and not as certain sources state in 1357.

In 1362, Magnus Finvidsson gives a total of 1:0 in Ella and HEBy in GÅSINGE parish as a gift to his wife (Margareta) Marta Knutsdatter. (Was she married 3 times?)

In 1384 Ragnvald Magnusson (Håkon Tunasson's ætt) assigns O:O:10 to Håkan Halstensson (Halsten Petersson's ætt)

In 1385, Halstein Petersson's son Knut Halstensson fulfills his mother Margareta (Marta?) Knutsdatter (Tre Rosor)'s will by donating, with his brother Håkan Halstensson's consent, 1/2 of EKA and land in outer HEBY, as well as additional land in HEBY - in GÅSINGE the sock of St. Andreas prebend in Strængenes.

(If Peter (Halstensson) in Tracksta (ca. 1330 - did not die until 1401, was the brother of Knut and Håkan, then he should probably be mentioned here?

From and including 18 May 1362 (until 7 May 1401?) we find a Peter in Träcksta, (Vadsbro socken, Södermanland, near Stockholm) mentioned 8 times, mostly as regulars. This is ant. Peter Halstensen Half Lily. (Yellow Lily on Red Field).

In 1401, an interesting land acquisition concerns land in Fyrby in Blacksta parish and in Vik in Vadsbro parish, which Ingebor in Kjallsta and her son Nils (Gregersson) had sold to Peter (Halstensen) in Träcksta, who was Peter's right Odel (byrdh). The seller was obviously Ingeborg Nilsdatter (married to Greger Anundsson), sister of Knight Karl Nilsen (Färla), who was murdered on 13 June 1381 by Bo Jonson Grip (died 1386) in front of the high street in the Gråmunkernes monastery church.

But Karl was no Färla, he had a split shield, which at that time was carried by the Hammestad family.

From where Peter Halstensen got his (byrdh's right) inheritance right to buy land in FYRBY in Blacksta and in Vik in Vadsbrosocken is unknown.

During the same period that PETER (HALSTENSON) was in TRACKSTA, we also find a Johan, mentioned in 1393-1422-1424, who may be the father of Nils Johnsen (Johansson) in Tracksta, who in 1435 settled on land in Eknes, Flinkestad and VIK in Vadsbro socken, which he had bought from Håkan Halstensson and his sister Cecilie Halstensdatter (this must be a younger Håkon Halstensson than the one mentioned 1346? -1398?). A Håkan (Hacon) is mentioned in 1398, and could be? a brother,? (or an unknown son?) to Peter Halsteinsson (the older one who should have been born c.1330)

SEE - https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halsten_Peterssons_æt Here a slaughter table has been set up: But it seems completely hopeless in terms of time between the generations: Halsten Petersson (Halv Lilja) (married to Märta Knutsdotter, three Rosor), who most recently must have been born early in the 14th century, is listed as the father of Johan Halstensson (Halv Lilja), he should probably have been born around 1330/35?, and then cannot be, as it says, the father of Sven Jonsson (Halv Lilja), born c.1420 - died a little before 1484. Living at Frälsegarden Dingelvik in Stenby socken.

Johan Halstensson (1330/35?) is also the father of Halsten Johansson (Halv Lilja), who in turn is said to have been the father of a Knight Håkan Halstensson (Halv Lilja), mentioned as an adult already in 1346 - mentioned until 1380 and married to Bengta , daughter of Riksråd Sigge Magnusson. (But Håkan Halstensson, married to Bengta, was the brother of Knut Halstensson (Halv Lilja) Mentioned in 1377 and 1385, and was the child of Halsten Petersson and Märta Knutsdotter (Tre Rosor). (I am not sure which of these 2 mentioned Håkan Halstensson , who during the civil war in 1364 had his estates confiscated by King Håkon Magnusson, who gave it to Nils Bengtsson, Lion-faced (who is mentioned as living from 1315 to 1364, Östra herad in Småland, Østgøtaland).

Dingelvik, by Wikipedia

Dingelvik is a place in Bengtsfors municipality , Västra Götaland county , located in Steneby parish . The development was defined by Statistics Norway as a small town in 1990 and was deregistered as such in 2020 due to the fact that the number of residents was below 50.

Dingelvik Farm

The farm in Dingelvik has been known since the Middle Ages, and the squire Sven Jonsson (half lily) (died around 1484), signed himself to Dingelvik . The farm was inherited within the Halsten Petersson family , and passed to the older Forstenas family (ram's head), and after a division into Norra and Södra Dingelvik, during the 17th century, northern Dingelvik was owned by the Svinhufvud family , while southern Dingelvik was owned by the Ahlefeldt family .

A man building on Södra Dingelvik was built around 1848-1850 by the then owner Baron Henry de Reverony St. Cyr.

The farm is today owned by the Kling family.

Halsten Petersson's Family, by Wikipedia

Halsten Petersson's family , also called half lily , is a contemporary conventional name for a Swedish medieval squire family that took its name from the progenitor, knight and bailiff Halsten Petersson. The family died out before Sweden's Riddarhus was founded in 1625, which is why it was never introduced there as nobility . The members of the family wore a red scotch, with half a golden lily laid in beams in the upper field.

History

Two land exchanges from 1377 and 1380 give good insight into the mutual kinship of several members.
