About Svend Thrugotsen
Svend Thrugotsen, known under both his Patronymic Thrugotsen and his Matronymic, Thorgunna, Thrugun, Trund, which is: Thorgunnasen, Thrugunsen and Trundsen. (If you throw too many balls to any juggler, then he will sooner or later fail and drop some balls and this have happens to some of the children in this family), but not only was Svend known by all those names, he was also called Thorkil. His mother outlived his father by many years, thus mentioned as "Langliva Mater dicta", she died february 8, but the year are unknown. According to the Knytlinga Saga: Canute the Holy courtiers and dearest friends; Svend and his brother Astrad accompanied Canute when the rebellion in Jutland broke out; during the battle in St. Albans priory in Odense they defended him valiantly. After Canute's death in July 10, 1086, Sven and Astrad traveled to Flanders, where they met with Count Balduin and obtained the release of King Canute's brother Oluf, who then returned to Denmark and was hailed as king.
