About Sylvester Bemis

He went from Spencer to Chester, Mass. in the spring of 1786, cleared land and built a house, returning to Spencer for winter. The following spring he took his wife and dau. Sally, the only one of his children born in Spencer, to Chester and settled. He prospered exceedingly and died a rich man.
