Sylvester Fry, son of Lewis Fry, was born in Mercer Co Pennyslvania, February 1 1849, and came to Wisconsin in 1852, at the age of three years.

He was married to Maria Beaumont February 9 1873 and settled on a farm near Werley, living there the remainder of his life except the last seven months, which he spent in Fennimore with his daughters Mrs Andy Allen.

He was the father of eight children, two being deceased, Adaline and William.

He leaves to mourn a very devoted wife who ws so faithful to him in every way possible, always caring for him and granting him every wish, also, three daughters and three sons, Blanche, (Mrs Andy Allen), Nellie, (Mrs Frank Richmond), Lewis S, George W, Cleveland J and Stella, (Mrs Richard Edwards).

All that loving hands could do was done to help him but God called him home where there is no suffering or pain.

He passed peacefully to the great beyond July 21 1921 at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 21 days.

During all his sickness he never murmured or complained, always trying to look on the bright side,. He was prepared to go in every way, always saying "if it's God's will I am ready to go."

Funeral services were conducted at the ME Church Sunday afternoon with a great outpouring of relatives, neighbors and friends. Rev Geo Merrifield of Platteville officiated and preached a very thoughtful sermon. A quartette C J Niehaus, Mrs Ed Lawson, Mrs Frank Tuckwood and Ed Monteith, sang.

Interment was made at the White Cemetery
