About T/5 Francis Henry Wyman
NORTH ANSON -- Francis Henry Wyman, 83, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Cedar Ridge Center for Healthcare and Rehab in Skowhegan.
He was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Wilton the son of Raymond H. and Helen E. (Adams) Wyman. Francis attended Wilton schools and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married Aug. 7, 1948, in New Sharon to Louise Janette Stuart.
He was a life member of American Legion Post 173 of New Portland, a member of the Casco Lodge AF & AM in Yarmouth, a member of Kora Temple Shrine of Lewiston, and a member of the Improved Order of the Red Men of Cumberland Center.
Francis was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and camping. He loved people, and enjoyed helping the community through organizations he belonged to.
He was predeceased by a son, J. Norris James; two grandsons, Bruce and Gordon Blanchard; three brothers, Larry, Clarence and Richard "Buster" Wyman; and a sister, Eunice Bean.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louise Janette (Stuart) Wyman, of North Anson; his children, Shirley M. Blanchard and husband Earl of Augusta, Sandra H. Brown and husband Thomas of Phoenix, Ariz., Nancy M. Wyman of Shawmut, Karen L. McCarthy and companion Bob Burns of Windsor, and Janet M. Boothby and husband Peter of North Anson; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Elbridge Wyman, and his wife, Pauline, of Farmington; and a sister, Florence Jordan, of Canton.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Community United Methodist Church in North Anson with the Rev. Margo Carmines officiating. Interment will be later in the spring at Sunset Cemetery in North Anson. Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.
