Grave marker has error in spelling of Abner.
Tapley Abner married Rosalie Gallien aka: Gallier and they had three children: Sidney Jane marr. her 1st cousin Sublett A. Ashworth, Lydia Ann who married Ephraim Dyson and Phillip H. Ashworth who married 1st to Artimise Landrum and 2nd to Mary Knupple.
Abner made his will in 1851 which identifies his two daughters by Rosalie. The will was written before his son Phillip was born four years later. Abner also mentioned each of his siblings both living and deceased, so if he had other children by a former common-law union you would think he would have mentioned them in his will as well. To each of his sibling & their heirs he left "one dollar"...so none of them could lay claim to his estate which he left to his wife Rosalie and the two children. His son Phillip Ashworth was a minor when his father died so he got his share when he became of age. There is no real evidence to show that Abner had any children by a woman named Levina Goings in Calcasieu Parish, LA. There were other men named Abner Ashworth in LA during the early 1800's which has caused this confusion.

Abner owned land in Orange Co., Jefferson Co., and Palo Pinto County,Texas. By 1850 Abner owned 35 horses, 1 mule, 4 oxen, 25 milk cows, 975 other cattle, 20 swine, and 4 sheep. He had 18 acres of land improved (Jeff. Co.) 302 unimproved acres; 150 bushels of corn; 900 pounds of rice; 30 pounds of butter; 12 pounds of wool; 1 ton of hay; 25 bushels of sweet potatoes; and $15 worth of orchard products, plus 4 slaves.
