About Tatiana
Tatiana was the stronger of the sisters, who found her calling in being a diplomate's wife. She followed her husband to postings in Hungary, Germany, Belgium, Ethiopia and Moscow. She finally was able to live in her "homeland" from which she had to flee with her parents in 1918. She visited her grandparents house in St. Petersburg and her mother's flat there where she had played as a little girl, she bought every Russian antique of which she could get hold of and her apartment in Rome looked like a Russian museum. She discovered important family documents from the archives in Russia as well as old books mentioning her ancestor Prince Nikolai Danilovitch Koudacheff and his campaign against Napoleon in 1813. She transferred all her love to animals and cats and dogs were her constant friends at home and were treated as "humans" .
