TENNERTON — Teresa G. Phillips, 89, of Buckhannon died Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Paula’s Personal Care Home. She was born in Upshur County on March 1, 1929, a daughter of the late Roy A. and Vervel E. Greathouse Hibbs. She was united in marriage on Nov. 23, 1950, to Horace Junior Phillips just prior to a huge snowstorm. They were married for 60 years when Junior preceded her in death on May 16, 2010. In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by grandsons Benjamin and Avery Miller and a special sister-in-law, Mary Simmons.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra and husband Rob Miller, of Buckhannon, and one son, Steven and wife Cathy Phillips, of Bridgeport; four grandchildren: Terri Long, of Girard, Ohio, Patrick Miller, of Buckhannon, Curtis Phillips, of Fairmont, and Cara Phillips, of Bridgeport; she treasured her five great-grandchildren: Zach, Allie and Trenton Long and Landon and Gemma Miller; one brother, Richard and wife Patty Hibbs of Somerset, Ky.; three sisters: Velta and husband Gerald Carpenter, of Buckhannon, Glenna Teets, of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Arlene June Campbell of Meredian, Miss.
Teresa was a graduate of Morgantown Beauty Academy and was the owner and operator of Teresa’s Beauty Salon. She was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church and enjoyed making homemade bread and sharing it with others.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, share some time with someone who needs your kindness.
