Brief overview:
Tertia (47), a South African farmer/artist was killed 15th May 2004 on Dewini Farm in the Tuli Block in Botswana will be buried on Tuesday 23rd May at 2pm from the Avbob Chapel in Kempton Park.
Tertia who had been farming in Botswana for the past 10 years, was murdered while taking a shower.
The farm where she was murdered is apparently not far from the Platjan border post on the banks of the Limpopo River in Limpopo.
Beeld learnt from a member of the police, who asked not to be identified, that two of the South African's farm workers attacked her.
She apparently was hit on the head with a tent peg when she tried to flee from her attackers. Her neck was apparently broken with a steel rake afterwards.
Momberg's mutilated, naked body was found next to the farmstead only on Sunday by friends who came to check after she failed to attend a birthday party.
Police said the suspected killers ran off with a torch, cellphone, liquor and money.
One of the suspects was caught on the farm on Sunday night and his accomplice was arrested about 30km from the farm on Monday.
They were still being held for questioning by Botswana police on Tuesday and have not yet appeared in court.
Momberg had been living alone on the farm since her husband died about a year ago.
The couple farmed with citrus and mangos.
A family friend, Cassie de Bruyn, said Momberg wanted to stay on the farm after her husband's death to make a success of it.
"It was a wish she wanted to fulfill," he said.
