Medical Examiner: Farrow's Son's Death Ruled Suicide

The death of Mia Farrow's son Thaddeus Wilk Farrow was ruled a suicide, the medical examiner's office said Thursday. Farrow was found gravely injured in his car along Route 67 Wednesday.

State troopers responded to the scene around 12:45 p.m. and found Thaddeus Wilk Farrow, 27, suffering from a life-threatening injury. He was taken to Danbury Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m. The office of the chief medical examiner said Thurday afternoon that he died from a gunshot wound.

Police sources confirmed the man was Mia Farrow's son. She lives in nearby Bridgewater on a sprawling estate dubbed Frog Hollow.

In a statement released on Twitter Thursday, Farrow said: "We're devastated by the loss of Thaddeus, our beloved son and brother. He was a wonderful, courageous person who overcame so much hardship in his short life. We miss him. Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and words of kindness."

A New York Post story in 2000 said Mia Farrow had rescued Thaddeus five years earlier from an orphanage in Calcutta, India, where he was stricken with polio. His condition had vastly improved by the time the story was published. "Thaddeus walks with leg braces [and] attends the fourth grade at a school near their Bridgewater, Conn., farmhouse," the story reads.

Farrow herself suffered from polio as a child.

A 2013 profile in Vanity Fair said Thaddeus Farrow was working as a car mechanic and studying to become a police officer.

"It was scary to be brought to a world of people whose language I did not understand, with different skin colors," he told the magazine, opening up about his adoption. "The fact that everyone loved me was a new experience, overwhelming at first."

Police on Wednesday listed Thaddeus Farrow's address as 52 Summer St., the Torrington Towers high-rise apartment complex. ...
