Thaddeius-Thadias Newell was son of Jonathan & Millicent Mason Newell of Dudley, Worchester Co., MA. Vital Record of his birth recorded in Dudley, MA. He married a Rachel ? around 1780 Norfolk Co., MA., Windham Co., Conn. or Columbia Co., New York. He lived in Woodstock, Windham Co., Conn. for a time. I question them being married around 1769 in Brecksville, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio as per in Ancestry have stated. It was to early for that area. Cuyahoga County didn't become a county till 1810 and they were married prior to 1781 with birth of son Rufus Newell b. 1781 New York. Thaddeus M. Newell lived in Dudley, Worchester Co., Mass., Medway, Norfolk Co., MA., Woodstock, Conn., Canaan, Columbia Co., NY, Portage Co., Ohio, and Brecksville, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.
Two children found so far and they are: Rufus Newell b. 1781 New York and Elizabeth Newell b.1782 New York, wife of Ezra Brown.

War of 1812 the British wanted to impress sons: Ezra Brown and Case Brown to fight against United States so they escaped across St. Lawrence River back to New York and engaged in anti-British activities. Ezra brother Case Brown and friend Richard Jaqua served as guides to American army under General Wilkerson through the Thousand Islands of the St. Lawrence to fight the British.
Thaddeus-Thadias Newell was in Continental Army State of New York, 17 Regiment of W.B. Whiting and Company of Gideon King.
There is a flat plaque/metal Continental Army in Brecksville - Highland Drive Cemetery for Thaddeus Newell Headstone 1746-1830.
