About Thankful Pierpont
Thankful, baptized in Biddenden, March 29, 1629, emigrated with her parents to New England 1634, married at Roxbury, probably about 1648, John Pierpont of Ipswich, Mass., who died in Roxbury, Dec. 7, 1682, aged 64 years. The date of her death has not been learned. They had several children, sone of whom died unmarried. It was from John Pierpont and Thankful, his wife, that the name of Pierpont is perpetuated in the country. from "Ancestry and Some of the Descendants of Capt. Stephen Stowe of Milford, Conn." The marker reads Pierpoint, not Pierpont. I have recorded it as Pierpont, as was for her family members, so it can more easily be found in a database search.
