Thayyil Cherian

Cherian Ashan,probably worked with the CMS Press Kottayam. Joined CMS Church. Started Thayyil family(a branch of Padinjarekara family). He married from the Kuzhithatil family. He had two sons Rev.C.Itty and C. Mathew

Cherian Ashan had six daughters.

A daughter married into the Palathinkal family....descendants of this daughter were Dr P.V.Cherian/Dr P.V.Isaac,Arundhati Roy's grandfather.

A daughter,Anna who married into the Challiyil family... descendants were John Matthai and his other well known Matthais of Calicut.

A daughter Elizabeth who married into the Therthanathu family,well known descendants being Dr T.E.Poonen and Dr. Mary Poonen Lukose, the first lady Surgeon General of Travancore
