About The Most Reverend Charles-François Baillargeon
Overview
Charles-François Baillargeon was a priest and archbishop of Quebec. He was ordained in 1822 and became bishop in 1851 and archbishop in 1867, until his death. He created a french translation of the New Testament for Bishop Plessis while still a parish priest. He was a hard worker who died on the job. Baillargeon's pastoral work was enlightened and wise and contributed to the religious fabric of Quebec and of Canada.
La paroisse de Saint-Charles-de-Caplan fut nommé en son souvenir, lui qui avait érigé le territoire de cette paroisse en mission originellement.
