About Thelma Douglas
Just thinking about my grandma lately. Reflecting on how wonderful a person she was. She would give someone the shirt off her back. She didn't like conflict. I loved her so much and miss her even more. Thelma Hogans was known for taking in anyone in who needed a home. She would cook anyone a meal that needed to eat. She would speak her piece if she needed to and hold her tongue if she didn't. I wish I knew him better but my grandfather George her dutchee was the topic of many conversations. When ever she mentioned him it would bring a curl of a smile to her face. If I could have just one more day to show her how much I appreciate her that would be worth so much to me. I just endeavor as I age to pick up all of her strong qualities. I know she babied us (my brother and I.) I kinda need her again. She was so kind and when ever I felt bad I could curl up into the bed beside her and she would make everything okay. I miss you mama I really do. I pray I see you again someday.
