Thelma Nelson

LAYTON-Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Thelma Yaussi Nelson, passed away January 28, 2007 at the Wasatch Care Center in Ogden, Utah.

The daughter of Earnest and Reva Yaussi, born in Paris, Idaho August 21, 1920. Thelma leaves behind a legacy of love and caring for her family. She retired from Hill Air Force Base after 20 years of service, where she received many awards for excellence. She was always there to help her family with babysitting, caring for the new grandchildren. She earned her 20 years pin for volunteering at Davis North Hospital where she cared for the needs of many. She married Earl Ray Nelson on October 7, 1939. They raised two lovely daughters, DeeAnn (Jerry) Richins, Syracuse; and Bette Lynn (L. Dale) Green, Fruit Heights. Thelma loved to crochet, and play card games with her sisters and Bunco with her daughters and granddaughters. She taught her girls to dance and enjoy life to the fullest. Ray and Thelma spent winters in Apache Junction, Arizona where they made many new friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Verla.

She is survived by her husband Ray of 67 years, daughters, sisters, Nathel Mills and Orlene Lund, eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grand-children.

Funeral Services will be held Wed., January 31, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main. Friends and Family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment: Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.
