About Theo Olive
Born in 1914, Theo Olive was a painter and printmaker who favoured the techniques of watercolour, engraving and lithography. For many years he was a Tutor at the Bath Academy of Arts at Corsham in Wiltshire, where he befriended fellow artists Peter Potworowski, Michael Tippett and Kenneth Armitage.
Olive had an illustrative style in the Modernist European tradition, he was influenced by among others Paul Nash. His works are held in many public collections, including the Government Art Collection.
Theo Olive died in 1998.
