J. O. Thacher of Forest Grove passed away at the home of his son at Eugene last Saturday, aged 71 years of apoplexy. Born in New York, November 15, 1844, he came to Forest Grove in 1910 having lived for some time at Concord, Michigan. He first came to Forest Grove and engaged in the flour and feed business and real estate. He was an alumnus of Union College of Schenectady, New York.

Mr. Thacher is survived by his widow and a son, W. F.G. Thacher.

He was a member of the Congregational Church.
