Theodore William "Tito" Wessel

Theodore W. "Tito" Wessel (1889-1948) was a Danish millionaire and one-time honorary Danish secretary of legation and chargé d'affaires in Chile.

His mother, Frederica Marianna Emilia Masten (1859-1921) was an American. His father, Peter (Pedro) Wessel (1851-1921) emigrated in 1865 to Chile and became a very rich man through various business entreprises.

His uncle Theodor Wilhelm Wessel (1842-1905) was one of the founders of Th. Wessel & Vett and Magasin du Nord, a Danish chain of department stores.

From 1918 to 1923, Tito Wessel was the owner of Iselingen, a Danish manor house and estate. He had previously leased the estate from Carl Moresco, the father of his first wife.

3. to Jessie Smither, a former singer, actress and musician known as Denise Orme who later married the 7th Duke of Leinster
