About Theophillus Grabe
After the demise of his wife on 2 January 1780 Theophilus decided to leave Germany; left his children in the care of family and immigrated to South Africa. In December 1780 he arrived in South Africa. His son Johann Conrad b 13 August 1770 followed Theophilus and arrived in South Africa in 1794. He came from Marburg in Hesse-Nassou in Germany. His trade was that of Carpenter and he setttled at the Warmbaths near Caledon.
