was born 1700 in New Amsterdam, New Netherlands (New York), and died September 30, 1731 in New Amsterdam, New Netherlands (New York City).
He married HESTER ROOME May 23, 1723, daughter of PETER ROOME and HESTER VANGELDER. She was born February 09, 1699/00, and died December 04, 1792.

curator note: In reviewing all the various Elsworth, Hardenbrook, Rome and Roome marraiges and children ... please be advised: There are at least two Theophilus Elsworths who were alive and baptizing children in the NEW YORK CITY DRC:

1. Theophilus (willems) Elsworth who married Jannetje Hardenbrook in 1716 and
2. Theophilus Elworth who married Ester Rome in 1723. Take care to not confuse the two.
   

TWO MAKE MATTERS MORE CONFUSING:
We notice that, yet a different person, Hester Roome also married an Elsworth:
