1. THIBAUT “Filans-stupas/File-Etoupes” . The Historia of Monk Aimon names "Theobaldus cognomina Filans-stupas, Forestarius [Roberti Regis]" as father of "Guidonem...[de] Montem-Lethericum"[915]. Brémeron’s history of Longpont, written in 1713 calls him "Thibaud de Montmorency surnommé File-Etoupes seigneur de Bray" (without citing the corresponding primary source)[916]. No primary source has been found that indicates that Thibaut was related to the seigneurs de Montmorency. m ---. The name of Thibaut’s wife is not known. Thibaut & his wife had one child:

a) GUY [I] (-[24 Jul] 1095, bur abbaye de Longpont).

Thibaud "Fille-Etoupe", Seigneur de Bray & de Montlhéry and Bouchard I "le Barbu", Seigneur de Montmorency appear to have been a brothers.

He was living in the time of Hugh Capet. He was built the castle which was to become the family seat in 1015 in Montlhéry, France.

He was Grand Forester of King Robert II of France [Anselme de Sainte-Marie (augustin déchaussé), Histoire généalogique et chronologique de la maison royale de France, des pairs, grands officiers de la couronne et de la maison du roy et des anciens barons du royaume.
