Inscription
The third Thomas Andrewes who died in 1541 is armoured and bare headed but his wife Agnes wears a huge head-dress and the long hanging sleeves fashionable at that time. The brass is known as a palimpsest brass because it is engraved on the reverse of a brass which had previously been used to commemorate some other person. Text provided by 'Charwelton through the ages' compiled by Graham White.

The inscription reads: Sub isto marmore Jacet Thomas Andrewes Armiger et Agnes uxor eius qui quidem Thomas obijt secundo die mensis Julij Anno Domini Millesino Quingentesimo quadragesimo primo, quorum animabus propicietur deus.

Under this marble slab lies Thomas Andrewes Esquire and Agnes his wife, the which Thomas died the second day of July AD 1541 on whose soulds may God have mercy.

Research Notes Previous birthplace was Horndon On Hill, Essex, England, which possibly could be a London residence or a mistake.

Marriage place of Sandon, Hertfordshire, England makes sense but 1526 age ~46 seems kind of late.
