About Thomas Andrew, of Daventry
Not the same as Thomas Andrews
Thomas Andrew, of Daventry was the son of Anthony Andrew (died 1557) and his wife Joan Andrew. He wife was Jane Belson; Jane was the daughter and heir of Nicholas Belson, of London.
Four of his sons were sent to Magdalen Hall, Oxford. Thomas Androwes (Andrews) and Jane Belson lived in Daventry.
Parish registers record the baptisms of the first, second, and youngest of their six sons was found:
1. Thomas Andrews on 9 January 1567/8; Magdalen Hall, Oxford matriculated on 5 November 1585 at age 17
2. Anthony Andrew - 1570; Magdalen Hall, Oxford matriculated on 5 November 1585 at age 14
3. Edward Andrews
4. Henry Andrews, Magdalen Hall matriculated 21 March 1588 age 15, married twice and died January 1634 - will proved on 14 January 1634/5
5. George Andrews, Magdalen Hall matriculated 21 March 1588 age 13 most distinguished, married Eleanor Ryder (More on him later).
6. Eusebius "Euseby" Andrews - 29 March 1577
The baptisms of the three middle boys are not recorded in the registers (which appear to be complete) Thomas moved away from Daventry for a time and at some date previous to 1598 he parted with his Christ Church

Joan Andrews and her children were named in her mother’s 1558 Will:

- I give to Thomas Andrewes, son of my daughter Joane, the bedstead, bed etc in the chamber next to the great chamber, 20 sheep, £10 to be paid at age 19 and an ale pot of gilt stone.
- I give my smaller brewing lead at Davingtree to my son John Androwes, and the great lead and cistern to Thomas Androwes, son of my daughter Joane, with all the vats and covers there.
